Report: Hammers receive loan bid for Pedro Obiang

According to a report from the Italian media outlet Serie A club Atalanta have made an approach to sign West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang.

Bergamo Corriere Della Sera claims that the 26-year-old Spaniard is a key target for Serie A side Atalanta.

The Italian club have allegedly made an initial loan offer of €1 million (£890,000), with a €9 million (£8 million) option to buy the midfielder.

Previous reports on Sky Sports earlier this month suggested that both Fiorentina and Atalanta have seen previous bids rejected for Obiang, while Villarreal are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Obiang was purchased for £4.5m in 2015 from Sampdoria and signed a new long term contract in 2017 keeping him a Hammer until 2022.

  1. Why are our players thought to be cheap? If Obiang goes, and I hope he doesn’t, he must be worth at least 20mill. in today’s market.

  2. In my opinion if he has to go it should be a mandatory purchase at the end of a loan .

  3. £8mil…????? Jog on …..
