Vardy release bait clause

vardyJamie Vardy is available to Champions League clubs although his personal demands are likely to remain out of West Ham’s reach.

The 29 year old is understood to have a £25m release trigger in his contract and the Irons are ready to pay the fee.

Any talking cannot take place until after the transfer window opens and it is well known that the club has had him on the radar but with one more bumper deal in prospect the Hammers are set to be priced out of that market.

We understand that a minimum £100k a week plus first team appearance bonuses would be involved and that could rise to as high as £125k plus.

Vardy has regularly pledged loyalty to the Foxes but the fact he can be prised away for a cut price fee will alert Premier League rivals.

Vardy’s release clause is reported as having been inserted into the contract he signed in February, and he was also apparently extensively scouted by Manchester City during his 24-goal Premier League campaign.

  1. Would he really suit West Ham ??, some how , a niggly feeling tells me No .

  2. Not at he’s age let’s get someone younger who as a sell on value

  3. Wilson from Bournmouth is only 24 and would be a better fit at WHU.

  4. Forget bloody sell on value. There is so much money in football & that mentality is from us always being a selling club.

  5. I really dont understand people worrying about a sell on value. Football today is a instant success results business, managers aren’t given enough time to worry about selling on, if they dont start winning straight away they are out on their arse. Manure have fantastic young players who will be worth a fortune in a couple of years coming through, LVG still got the boot. Buy for now to gain success now. We have great youngsters on the edge of the 1st team, will they get the chance to show how good they are? Not if we have a sh1tty start to next season.

    • That’s it Essexclarets, youngsters we develop we can look at as sell on value & profit makers if we need to.The bigger players, well forget about sell on value, they are signed for the here & now not for a profit down the line imo.

  6. Just can’t see it myself,I think he will stay at Leicester who will put his wages up £25 K per week, and next year he will look like a 1 season wonder,
    Just my opinion
Wilson Dehenney both offer much more to the team,
Bony will score goals and be a better target man then AC

  7. Suliivan’s attitude is that he wants players for the immediate – forget about potential or sell-on value or any of that old cobblers!

I thought Vardy’s buy-out clause could only be triggered by a Champions League club – so this whole thing is a non-starter – next!

  8. Not for that price, not for me, as others have mentioned, got a feeling he’ll be down to earth with a bump next season and so will Leicester. Will be interesting to see how he handles himself when he’s not scoring most weeks, my guess is frustration will get the better of him.

I’d rather go for either of the two lads in France, Bony or even Benteke, the last two can be fixed I’m sure of that.

  9. I might be wrong but I think ex WHU employee said we had already triggered the clause ?

  10. “Jamie Vardy is available to Champions League clubs” – The clause in his contract says he is allowed to leave should a “Champions League” club come after him…. am I missing something here or is the article and the subsequent comments all written by pillocks?

    • Go back & read the comments & then have your say. Apart from the first two the rest aren’t about Vardy at all, so yes you are missing something. Unless you have met everyone who has made a comment can you please explain to me why you can claim that they are all pillocks?? Maybe you just feel the need to attempt to belittle other people or to moan for the sake of it. Either way imo you come across as a fool.

  11. Same old, same old,AOI pitches up to leave one of his weekly dumps of pony.Dont know about the rest of the comments but yours certainly qualifies in the ‘Pillock’ category.Whats wrong did you get banned from here originally as well as WHTID.So bitter & twisted, sad little man.

  12. Just imagine radai there is probably some poor woman married to that tw#t.
