What system? I couldn’t work out what they were supposed to be doing – no tactics, no pattern of play, no structure to the team, Andy Carroll playing at right back for part of the game – no clue what was happening!
By comparison Hull looked like an organised outfit who lacked a cutting edge, hitting the post twice and having several clear cut chances – Hull were desperately unlucky and West Ham were useless – shocking display!
Andy Carroll was man of the match for me. He was everywhere. The work he puts in for the team is phenomenal. in attack and defence and midfield. He was even covering at right back at one point. 7 0ut of 10. Had he scored he would have been an 8 or 9 out of 10.
Slav played a blinder today. We were lucky to win but mostly thanks to Slav. I thought the starting eleven was our best team pretty much but We were leggy after the effort Wednesday night. Particularly obiang and Lanzini who both looked knackered. Hats off to Slav he identified the problem with the lack of pace and movement in midfield and made 2 great subs in Fernandez and ayew at half time. It changed the game and we were much better second half. 3 points we were lucky to get but hey. Who gives a fig if we win against Swansea in style on Boxing Day and move into the top half of table
