Zaba so happy with performance

ZabPablo Zabaleta received widespread acclamation for his outstanding performance against Huddersfield and is pretty pleased with himself and the team’s display.

Commenting to the official site he said: “I played as a wing-back against Huddersfield. It’s been a long time since I played in that position, but I was happy with the performance.

“I always tried to support in attack and also always try to be in the right position defensively. Overall I think we were solid at the back.

“We needed a performance like that as defenders, because in the last three games we conceded ten goals.  That wasn’t good enough, so I’m very happy with the performance overall. The whole team did great.

“A clean sheet like Monday’s brings confidence back and hopefully we can continue playing in that way.”

“It was great to play my first game at London Stadium. The atmosphere was fantastic – I came here with City last season and was impressed with the atmosphere.

“Of course, it was great to experience it as a West Ham player on Monday. Thank you to the supporters – they were great, they were behind the team and I’m pleased with the performance. We needed to win a game like this.”

  1. Well done that man . Finally somebody listened to the Fans and did something about the formation . Took a heck of a long time but the penny finally dropped . It was great to see Carroll back in action and he proved just how much we have needed him . He certainly gave the team that boost and motivation . Shame Hernandez missed that shot and hit the bar but , you can’t win them all . Even Ayew turned in a performance , wow !.
I know it was only Huddersfield ( only ) but they have had a great start to season and proved difficult opponents . The most important thing is that we have three points and won them at home . I’m hoping we don’t drift back into a one up top formation and that it’s a thing of the past . At least we didn’t concede , we could easily have done , but that’s the same for any football match . With that kind of performance and two or three up front we might start looking good at last . The injury list is getting shorter and with Lanzini back in contention we could be mid table by January . It’s up to Bilic now to maintain the forward momentum .
We always went forward out of defense with very little sideways football . It was a relief to see it . Not convinced Noble was injured . I think Bilic dropped him and to save face declared him unfit . West Brom will be mighty tough game . If we keep our present shape it’s very winnable .

  2. Come on now Kevin we all know he didnt listen to all the fans.Only daz hammer from west ham till i die.He is Bilics guiding light.

A legend in his own lunchtime breakfast and supper. If you don’t know who i mean you are missing a treat.

  3. Not important who he listened to NW , the fact remains he finally listened to someone .
No matter what the forum we are all Hammers Fans . Maybe 50,000 fans had something to do with it as well ?? . Anyway , the penny finally dropped . Just hope Bilic doesn’t return to the penny arcade and chuck it all back in .
