Winston Reid has run out a clear winner in a poll to decide who should skipper the Hammers in the absence of Mark Noble.

ClaretandHugh held the poll after Noble missed  Monday’s game against Huddersfield and will be sidelined for Saturday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion.

With fierce competition for places when everybody is fit it looks likely that Noble could miss out on games although Slaven Bilic has suggested he will be fit for the Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers.

Over 1600 CandH follower voted in the poll and Reid came out way ahead with 882 votes (52.85 per cent of the poll) whilst Pablo Zabaleta was a clear runner up with 317 votes (18.99 pc).

That’s a remarkable result for a player who has so far only appeared in four league games.

James Collins filled third place with 132 votes ( 7.91 per cent) and Michail  Antonio fourth with 122 votes which represented 7.31.
