Brady under fire again for column comments

West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady is under fire again from supporters for comments in her Saturday Sun column

Many Hammers fans consider the tabloid football feature a conflict of interest with her job at the club saying that her comments upset other clubs and players alike.

Her latest target is former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge who she says no-one wants even for free because of his sulky loner reputation.  In her Saturday column, she writes “He certainly comes across as sulky and an unlucky loner. It is an impression emphasised by his short stay on loan at West Brom in January 2018 where he lasted two matches and three minutes of a third before limping away, goal-free, back to Liverpool where his final headline was for a betting offence last month.

I can’t help feeling sorry for him although he appears to have brought many of his problems on himself.”

Last year she upset Leicester City who were unimpressed with newspaper comments Brady made in the aftermath of Claudio Ranieri’s departure.

Brady suggested the now late Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, while in conversation with another club director, spent £500,000 on wine in a posh London store before sacking Ranieri.

Whilst browsing the Leicester owner told him that in an hour or so news would break they had sacked Claudio Ranieri,”  Brady told the Sun at the time

“He then went and settled his bill for wine and champagne, quite casually. I am guessing the compensation payment to his old manager is mere pocket change by comparison.”

In aftermath of the article, Leceister City refused to conduct transfer business with West Ham by rejecting a loan bid for Islam Slimani who went ti Newcastle instead.
