ClaretandHugh Exclusive: Arsenal and Declan: The truth

|

Over the top speculation that Arsenal are heavy favourites to sign Declan Rice is not being backed up by the facts!

Barely a day passes without a West Ham related media website or mainstream newspaper telling us that Mikel Arteta will make Dec a Gooner and one Arsenal site even claimed they were only ready to pay £70 million.

However the reality is that there still has not been a single inquiry from anywhere for our captain although that’s not to say there won’t be of course.

However, as of now the situation remains as it has dome for the past four years with Declan still very much a West Ham player.

It is more than feasible that with Mauricio Pochinetto a big favourite to become Chelsea manager there could be further interest from Stamford Bridge.

But a key Claret and Hugh source at the London Stadium made the position  clear: “There has never been any sort of inquiry for Declan since he has been with the club and that remains the case.”
