It’s been a long long time since I can recall looking forward to watching the Hammers play football!
Today is one of those days and it’s a good but bizarre sensation!
It sometimes feels to be a ‘propa ‘ammer’ a good moan up is required but win or lose at the Amex Stadium in Sussex by the sea tomorrow night I’m thoroughly looking forward to what we may see from our suddenly very exciting team.
Being part of the atmosphere inside the stadium for Saturday’s Man U game was unforgettable. From front to back the team were inspired – the fans were staggering as they cranked up the volume.
It’s always great to beat Manure…but to do it in such style was fantastic and took me back towards Lyall days I thought were long gone.
What struck me as forcibly as anything else was the massive improvement in our passing and control. I have despaired of misplaced passes and players being caught in possession and there was barely a sight of it on Saturday.
Instead there was quick to feet, one touch stuff and during one purple second half period around 20 passes strung together to the cheers of the crowd.
It’s easy to be cynical, it’s easy to talk of all the negatives that may occur in the next game, it’s easy to snipe and knock.
But right at this moment I’m ready, excited and chuffed to be a season ticket holder at this fabulous old club of ours.
