Exciting Hammers midfielder set to make his bow

|

West Ham could soon be looking towards a couple of Portuguese signings as the next big things to emerge from the under 23s.

Xande Silva has made a big impact and although he has suffered a couple of recent injuries is close to fitness again and hopefully ready to make an impression on Manuel Pellegrini again, hopefully as soon as Monday evening.

The young striker has been on the bench several times this season and showed up really well in the FA Cup clash against Birmingham City.

Now, he is hoping to link up with a seriously highly rated youngster – Mesaque Dju for the first time – possibly on Monday evening.

Dju is rated as another huge prospect and fans who make their way to the Chigwell Construction Stadium in a Premier League 2 Division 1 fixture will get their first chance of assessing the youngster.

The newcomer is a very fast attacking midfielder – precisely the type of operator need and there are a lot of Hammers watchers who are hoping for big things from the 19 year old.

Silva is looking forward to linking up with a player who won both UEFA European U17 and U19 Championship honours.

And he told www.whufc.com: “He’s a good player, in Portugal they speak well of him. A very fast player, with a lot of technical qualities.

“I think this is a good league for him, and I think he’s going to do very well here, he has to do what they (the staff) tell him and play his football and he’s going to do fine.”
