PSG are on the verge of paying an incredible 222 million Euros (£198m) for Neymar and the player will reportedly earn 865,000 euros (£775,477) a week when the Brazil forward completes his world record move from Barcelona to Paris St-Germain.

It means PSG’s total outlay across the initial five-year deal will come to £400m.

Back in 2014, David Sullivan admitted he made a bid Neymar in 2010 when the player was just 18 years old. Sullivan confirmed to ClaretandHugh at the time that he had made a bid worth around £16m. When reports first emerged in 2014 Sullivan told us: “Yes, that’s true – we did.”

Unfortunately, Santos rejected Sullivan’s bid insisting they would not deal at less than the than the player’s £28.4m release clause. The bid from West Ham alerted Chelsea who made their own offer in August 2010 but were also turned down after Pele persuaded Neymar to stay in Brazil. Neymar was born on the February 5th which is the same as the Joint Chairman  Sullivan, Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
