Moyes is full of hot air when addressing players skill

James Ward-Prowse’s goal, scored directly from a corner, will be replayed time and time again. It was an exquisite piece of skill from a set-piece specialist who has struggled for form since the turn of the year.

Teammate and creator of West Ham’s opener, Emerson, was wowed by the skill and claimed to have never seen anything like it. “It was unbelievable for Prowsey,” gushed the Hammers left-back. “It’s the first time I’ve seen it in my career! We know his quality and it was a golazo.”

I’m not entirely sure what a ‘golazo’ is, but I’m quite certain it’s a compliment.

It was just a bit of wind. Moyes wasn’t sure JWP intended to curl the ball in

David Moyes, on the other hand, was not quite so sure that Ward-Prowse intended to score. Instead, he hinted that his central defenders had not positioned themselves correctly and credited the weather with assisting the goal.

“I’m going to praise James for it because of his technical ability, but I also think there was a bit of blustery wind which may have helped,” claimed the Irons manager.

“He actually put in a brilliant delivery just before that from a corner, and we didn’t have the players placed correctly to deal with it.”

Don’t pay any attention to him, Prowsey, we know you meant it. It won’t be the last time we hear the manager talking about a blustery wind; he’s full of hot air himself.
