A new facility introduced this season allows West Ham season ticket holders to legally forward their ticket on email to anyone they choose to. The club quietly dropped the ticket forwarding functionality from the ticketing website at the end of last season which allowed forwarding of your ticket to a supporter with a West Ham client reference number with the recipient paying a booking fee of £1.50 to download the ticket.
The new option allows any season ticket holder to download their ticket electronically over the internet for free after which they can print it out or forward by email to anyone.
Today when asked West Ham confirmed that transferring home tickets to others does not break the club’s ticketing terms and conditions nor does it breach the public order act designed to outlaw touting of tickets as it is authorised by the club.
The club also confirmed that downloading tickets is the “Official forwarding platform for our tickets, and the Season Ticket Holder forwarding the ticket remains responsible for the actions of the person using the ticket.” adding at “Using the official platform to transfer the ticket is at the consent of the Club”
