London Stadium owners, E20 Stadium LLP say they are not responsible for paying casual match day staff used at West Ham games as none are directly employed by them.

Speaking exclusively to Claret and Hugh an LLDC spokesperson said: “Unlike several football clubs who own their venue London Stadium does not directly employ any casual match day staff. Contractors provide the stewarding and catering staff and they will make their own arrangements taking in to account their own obligations and any packages of help from the Government. Our suppliers are important partners and we will continue to work with them as this situation develops.”

E20 awarded the catering contract to American outfit Delaware North while the security and stewarding is split between four companies of G4S, Wise Security, Experia and CSP.

A number of other agencies also provide casual staff to the London Stadium on match days.

Yesterday CandH revealed that West Ham have continued to pay all direct employees including ticket, club store and their own match day casual staff

Claret and Hugh will approach the London stadium owners’ subcontractors directly to find out how they are supporting match day casual staff who have been financially disadvantaged.
