Ok, as Mr Dan King of The Sun has held his hands up I’ll do the same and conduct a quick cease fire on the paper for now.
I don’t often find myself in agreement with that particular red top and have and will continue to have some big criticisms of the Murdoch paper but this morning well done to the writer for providing some much needed balance from the tabloids towards the Irons.
I’ve been moaning about over the last couple of days that since last weekend the only story in town has been how rubbish United and Mourinho are rather than how excellent we were in beating them 3-1.

And Manuel Pellegrini’s side were impressive, completing an excellent week with the kind of victory that suggests the idea of pairing a Premier League-winning manager with the perennial East End underachievers is not as silly as it seemed after four straight defeats at the start the season.
The United fans who sang “You’re not West Ham any more” before the match were referring to their still-uncomfortable relocation to the former Olympic Stadium.
But under Pellegrini, the Hammers already seem to be regaining the kind of identity they have lacked for a long time.
