Benrahma doesn’t look a Moyes choice

Said Benrahma is a flair player more akin to Felipe Anderson and the the type of player Manuel Pellegrini would sign rather than a typical David Moyes type .

Benrahma tore up the Championship for Brentford with his mesmerising technical qualities and marvelous dribbles.

But his razor-sharp turning circle, vast array of tricks, feints, shimmies, step overs and nutmegs are not from the Moyes school of football.

It’s therefore puzzling that Moyes would sanction the sale of one left winger in the form of Grady Diangana for £18m, agree the loan of another left sided winger in the guise of Brazilian Felipe Anderson to FC Porto and bring in a third flair winger of similar type to replace them –

Something doesn’t quite add up and word is that the manager prefers Josh King who is a striker by trade who can play at left wing or the second striker role.

A few weeks ago we were told that we had too many wide players. What has changed since then?

It’s not surprising that the agent’s name Will Salthouse – as Benrahma’s agent – is regularly mentioned in these debates given that he is developing something of a monopoly on Hammers players!

I am confused -maybe I shouldn’t be! The simple fact is  the young Brentford player doesn’t look anything like a normal Moyes player.
