West Ham optimism has gone

I am West Ham optimist usually but I have yet to see a team under David Moyes that is truly up for a relegation fight and will play for the manager and the badge. Sure there are some individuals who bleed Claret and Blue and will put in blood, sweat and tears into their performances, we don’t need to name them, we know who they are.

My concern is the others and it worries me how many of them have relegation clauses written into their contracts meaning they can just walk away as free agents if we get relegated. I also worry that David Moyes has been given just a six-month contract to prove himself. What does that message say to the players and what loyalty does that guarantee of him when the summer comes.

I want to become a West Ham optimist again but until I witness a string of results and more importantly a win I remain sceptical and nervous.

I hope Moyes and the team prove me wrong on Wednesday night and turn over Everton!
