West Ham Veteran Likely to Depart

West Ham United full-back Aaron Cresswell is expected to leave the club on a free transfer this summer, according to The Boot Room.

The 34-year-old’s contract expires at the season’s end, and reports suggest the club won’t offer him a new one, marking the conclusion of his ten-year tenure at West Ham.

Cresswell was linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer but remained with the Hammers. This season, he has seen his playing time decrease with the emergence of Emerson Palmieri as the preferred left-back. He has made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.

Cresswell has been a loyal servant to West Ham, particularly during David Moyes‘ earlier years at the club. However, with a potential change in management and playing style under a new boss, a regular centre-back role, which Cresswell has occasionally filled, seems unlikely.

Cresswell’s age and reduced playing time suggest a move away is best for both parties. A proper send-off from the West Ham faithful in the final home game against Luton Town would be a fitting way to say good bye
