The Hammers are waiting on David Moyes to make a decision on whether he will be managing the club next season!

West Ham wait on David Moyes for a decision on his future

David Sullivan has made it clear today that the club want him to continue into the third year of his contract.  The Hammers major shareholder went on to add that Moyes has yet to make a decision.

It was suggested even before the European Conference Final that the Scot would be making his own decision. Moyes himself must decide whether to lead the club into the 1923/24 season, having been under pressure for much of this campaign.

And that is thought to centre on the new infrastructure the club is planning. It is understood West Ham wish to appoint a director of football this summer.

Possibly Moyes is concerned the decision making on new arrivals and departures will be taken out of his and head of recruitment Rob Newman’s hands. Unfortunately it was not an answer to which C&H was offered clarification when we put it to our highest placed source.

Instead, we were told: “Who knows, he could resign and go out on a high, but from the club’s point of view he stays.”

There has been much talk of the vacant job at Celtic where Ange Postecoglou has recently departed. The Aussie has left to become manager of Spurs over the last few days.

However, Sullivan implied that he would hope Moyes, like himself , would honour the third year on his contract. The Hammers owner declared that is how he tried to behave in all circumstances,

Sullivan added that discussions on any new contract would begin next summer should Moyes remain at the London Stadium. Moyes suggested on his return from Prague, that he hoped the European adventure would stretch into forthcoming seasons. Not the words of a man who was intent on departing.

As yet, there is no indication beyond that as to what the 60 year old Scot will decide.
