Ward Prowse stunner saves the day

West Ham’s pursuit of European qualification in the Premier League remains alive after a narrow 2-1 victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but manager David Moyes can count himself fortunate following the result.

The Hammers endured a dismal first half, with Wolves’ standout performer, Aït-Nouri, posing a constant threat until his substitution in the 55th minute. Interestingly, Moyes’ side seemed to find their rhythm only after this pivotal change.

James Ward-Prowse’s remarkable goal directly from a corner turned the tide for West Ham, as they rallied from behind to secure the win. However, the victory came at a cost, as Jarrod Bowen sustained an injury just days before their crucial Europa League clash against Bayer Leverkusen. The goal from JWP was a real stunner, I’m sure many will credit the weather conditions but he is capable of such things from set-pieces. The midfielder deserves every bit of praise he receives because his deployment in the first half did him no favours at all.

Wolves 1-2 West Ham: Ward Prowse stunner saves the day

Despite Ward-Prowse’s heroics and a timely intervention from VAR that disallowed Wolves’ late equaliser, concerns linger over Bowen’s fitness ahead of the European fixture. The win has propelled West Ham level on points with sixth-placed Manchester United in the race for Europa League qualification, but Bowen’s injury adds a layer of uncertainty to our immediate European hopes.
