Gold gives injury update on Carroll, Cresswell and Ayew

|

goldWest Ham joint-chairman David Gold took to Twitter on Sunday evening with an injury update ahead of West Ham’s away game against Crystal Palace.

Gold said: “Carroll and Cresswell could be available for the Palace game and Ayew the week after.”

The news seems to contradict what the head of medical science said last week which was a lot more cautious.

Speaking on WHUFC.com Stijn Vandenbroucke said Cresswell was getting closer to a return to first team training but claimed Carroll and Ayew were some way off.

“Andre will return to Rush Green at the weekend. He has been working very hard on the pitch and is ready for the next stage in the rehab, introducing the ball, passing, kicking and faster running” Vandenbroucke told whufc.com.

“Andre will continue working on improving his fitness levels for the next few weeks before he will join controlled introduction sessions with the Under-23s.Finally, Andy Carroll is continuing his rehab.”

Both Cresswell and Carroll face an internal club investigation this week that they stayed up all night partying following a sanctioned club club night out.
