Peace breaks out over Carvalho

|

CarvalhoWest Ham have this morning issued an unprecedented public statement which drops that a heavy hint that a deal involving William Carvalho may soon be back on the cards.

The Irons fell out big time with Sporting Lisbon back in the summer which led to threats of legal action and a complete breakdown in negotiations over the defensive midfielder.

But the Hammers are now at pains to ensure that everybody is aware that is all in the past and that there will be “no barriers” in the two clubs working together in the future.

In a highly unusual move a statement posted on the official website declares: “West Ham and Sporting Clube de Portugal acknowledge that a breakdown in communication based in contacts between representatives from both clubs in respect of a possible transfer of William Carvalho was the cause of a misunderstanding.

Subsequent to this, the Clubs have had positive communications and the matter is now resolved.  On this basis, friendly relations between the Clubs will resume and there will be no barriers to both Clubs negotiating or working together in the future.”

Genuinely can’t see us offering enough to buy Cavalue. Wouldn’t turn him down though.

      Me either.
And if it takes our whole Kitty + sales to get him. It no worth it we need fuller squad need 2-3 players w/o selling any. But Sakho most likely to go so will go for Fodor which he is in prime has height & rounded CF sell Sakho for £10m geT Fodor for £5m good deal.
But I’m not sure WC is the answer I think he could help but questions of his pace & now all the sudden they are ready to sell for us.
Also hia on mgr said he wasn’t fit for PL weather having a dig or not.
Mou coached him & praises him publicly but never went for him when needed DMs. Arsenal have fell off.
He could be great but if £30-35m be a big risk.
      We need creativity as well.
If seen another think 64 mention Dendockner he is good shout.
Plenty of players out there I’m just not sure about this deal but if they will pay & get more players I’ll be fine with it

It is an odd statement, if we had any chairmen other than DS I would expect it mean’t a deal had been agreed in principal and we would be signing Carvalho as it is though like you guys I am pretty sceptical. He is a player that would improve us although not the quickest he is like Alex Song normally in the right place at the right time sweeping up mistakes and breaking up play aswell as starting attacks. I hope we can do the deal and sign some more players, if reports are true the Russian striker said he watched us against Man City and said that isn’t the way he wants to play which is fair enough…
