Barton update: Psycho savages ‘egotistical’ Joey

|

PearceonBartonOutspoken Stuart Pearce has made it crystal clear what he thinks of Joey Barton – and the former England hardman clearly doesn’t think his mooted move to West Ham is a great idea.

Pearce’s feelings are summed up perfectly in a talkSPORT  picture that’s currently circulating on Twitter as talks continue on the possibility of the midfielder joining the Irons.

Pearce, drawing on his previous experiences with 32-year-old Barton, claims the former QPR midfielder will ruffle feathers because he will believe he is the best player in the Irons team.

And former Hammer, Pearce, who played for us between 1991-2001. made no bones about making his feelings public.

Meanwhile, a well-placed Hammers source insisted to ClaretandHugh this afternoon that no decision will be made on whether tBarton will be taken on in several days.

The source said: “There’s been talk of medicals and all sorts but the decision remains several days away.”

Hugh, this is a misrepresentation of the story, he says that he could prove an astute signing because he has sorted his attitude out as he has grown older and more experienced.

    Quote from talksport
“But Pearce insists the England international is no longer the troublesome character he was, and believes he could prove to be an astute signing by Bilic.

He added: “He struggled to handle his temper in his younger days. The older you get, the more mature you get, and you go through that cycle and hopefully grow up, and I think he has.

“He has got a wealth of experience. I’m not a trawler on social media but I don’t see and hear as much from Joey as I did three or four years ago. I’ve not read about him in the papers having the odd problem and whatever.

“He is a free agent with a wealth of experience, physically fit, and a good professional who stays out on the training pitch longer than anyone else.

“He has played a lot of matches, he has got an England cap – I can see why West Ham have dipped in for him.”

Pearce is talking about 10 years ago. He’s grown up a bit since then, as shown by his very useful season last year.
At nearly 33 he will be a stop gap for a couple of years.

How to make a story out of something that wasnt a story.Just put in the bits that you want to,lol

Also dont remember Pearce playing for us between 91-01.Nevermind 😉

Obviously a slip of the digit by Hugh – 99-01 wasn’t it?

You must remember the Harry story where he phones up Stuart Pearce’s wife and tells her that Stuart’s broken a leg and Mrs Pearce comes back quick as a flash – ‘Whose?’

Good one from Mrs Pearce if it’s true, but you have to take Harry’s stories with a pinch of snuff!
