Report: Emery on his way to Sullivan’s mansion

|

Poland Soccer Europa League FinalWest Ham are to hold talks with Sevilla manager Unai Emery in the next 48 hours over their vacant manager’s position, according to Sky sources.

Sky reported the story almost at the same time as ClaretandHugh had revealed the board had cleared their diaries to interview several candidates between now and Monday and that Emery was among those likely to arrive at David Sullivan’s Essex mansion.

Were the Hammers to get their man it would be a major coup followng his talks in Napoli simed at making him Rafa Benitez’s successor following his appointment as Real Madrid boss.

Emery has won plaudits and trophies in equal measure in recent seasons, his stock further enhanced after his side retained the Europa League with victory over Dnipro last week.

  • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

Is it like getting an invitation to Hugh Hefner’s mansion lol

  • DGHammer34 says:

Who are the other candidates then

  • mattefumi el loco says:

Here in Italy the journalists confirm that Emery is meeting West Ham owners today: yesterday he met De Laurentis (Napoli), but West Ham are going to offer him a higher salary (€ 4 mil./year) and a higher market budget than Napoli. I hope for the best πŸ˜‰

  • Boys of '66 says:

Oh you are still alive Matte,i thought you had fallen into a figa πŸ˜‰

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahaha… figas are always in my heart, in my mind (and sometimes in my bed… lol) πŸ™‚

  • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

Glad to see you back Matte I hope you’re well rested now

  • TysonM says:

Come on Daves, deliver the goods for us pls.Would be a great appointment πŸ˜‰ Matte leave those Italian ladies figas alone, you dirty little pervert, lol πŸ˜€

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahah.. thanks Quick, I rested for 2 days dreaming of Sam… πŸ˜‰

    • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

Haha that’s good there’s something very peaceful about seeing hippos going for a swim in the river

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahah… Ty, I know it seems impossible, but I’ll take figas over fooball… lol πŸ™‚

  • TysonM says:

No need to apoligize Matte,i take them over football too.Unless ofc you can have a figa & watch football at the same time, lol πŸ˜€

  • HamburgHammer says:

With a better financial offer (wages and transfer budget), the OS plus having Europa League football (same as Napoli) should give us an edge over Napoli.
Emery would be perfect insofar as he is still young and with his footballing philosophy he could really start something of an era at West Ham that deserves the name.
(4 years of Allardyce seemed like a century to be fair, thank God that era has come to an end!).
A good indicator of the calibre of manager is the level of jealousy you can sense coming through from other clubs’ fans.

With Emery we’d have the focal point of our move into the OS in charge.
Hope we get him and can then see what kind of players he will bring into the club.
And who he will allow to leave of course.

  • Rads says:

Thats it H,come over here & fill us with positive vibes. We will get a top class manager.Really dont get why all of a sudden Bilic isnt good enough for some.Ok fair enough he aint as big a name as some that have been mentioned in relation to the job but damn it he is a big enough name for me πŸ˜‰

  • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

Spot on Hamburg, now grab your passport and get yourself over to Sullivan Manor to give the big sell to Unai

  • HungryHammer66 says:

Ive said it before and I will say it again,
I appreciate what SuGo have done for the club, bailing us out after the Icelandic debacle, steadying the ship, getting us the O.S. etc but I have real doubts about their capabilities to land a top class manager especially a European…… Here are their previous managers
    Terry Cooper
    Barry Fry
    Trevor Francis
    Steve Bruce
    Alex McCleish
    Avram Grant
    Fat Sham
I pray im wrong but sorry but I just cant see them landing a class act I think everyone is and will drop out and Billic will be last man standing
( i left Zola out of the above list )

  • Rads says:

To be fair none of the above apart from Hippo will have been offered the wages being made available. They also were not about to move into a 54k stadium.Times are changing.Thats all old news now πŸ˜€

    • HungryHammer66 says:

I realise that mate but its just the way the way they carry themselves, some of their social media stuff has been amateurish to say the least, the new manager will have to buy into the owners first and foremost and first impressions count, Im no snob, im a working class boy and I know they have the best interests of the club at heart, Im just worried they dont have the class to land a class act !

      • StingRay Stewart says:

Well maybe these managers we are after are also working class geezers. They might get who they are & like it.Im sure if Sully shows them his extensive porn collection it will be fine.Keep the faith πŸ˜‰

  • HamburgHammer says:

Rumours from Spain (Radio Sevilla) that Emery may have opted to stay in Seville after all.
No idea how trustworthy this is when you’re considering that Emery is apparently in London at this moment to have a chat with Sullivan…

  • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

With respect to Hungrys list and points, five of those appointments were at Birmingham on a lower budget and poor fanbase,Grant was wrongly seen as a champions league level manager and BFS a necessary evil to do a job.
This appointment is about ambition and selling the club to a top name,I see what you mean about the Daves but some of Europes top clubs are owned by men with way worse reputations and standings, the classic example being Berlusconi (no offence Matte). This is about laying out a challenge with a promise to back that challenge and whether it’s for personal glory or to cash in at the OS I think the Daves are up to it.

  • StingRay Stewart says:

I have given up on the rumour mill H,you find different things coming from different sources. Most unreliable hearsay or trying to make a story out of nothing πŸ˜‰

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahah.. Hamburg, do you live in a Batcave? You get news from all around the world in real time… πŸ˜€
Anyway Emery will be our manager, his name is written in destiny: Unai(ted)…lol

  • StingRay Stewart says:

Lol,H does brilliant for breaking news,He is the King on WPants for getting the news out first.I think he does have a hotline in a batcave, maybe he gets Robin to answer it while he changes into Hamburgerman πŸ˜€

  • HungryHammer66 says:

    Emery now the bookies favourite,
Lets face it Id rather have Dick Emery than Fat Sham !!
Come on SuGo, prove me wrong and land him !

  • navajoHAMMER says:

So, wine and dine the man and show him what he is missing in good ol’ London. How is the “talent” there compared to Napoli?

  • Green man says:

According to Kumb he has decided to stay where he is. Well there’s a surprise. Not! That being the case, nice work Emery, playing us and Napoli to get yourself a better offer from Seville.

  • Quickdraw de Boer no more says:

The KUMB story came out before the Sevilla owner story, hope is not lost yet

  • bubs says:

Have I missed out on the happy baca, you lot have gone mad again on hearing 1 little rumour,Emery will take another 5days to a week to make up his min,he will listen to what
Saville offer as well as U.S. And Napoli and so would all of us,
Let’s face it what ever happens if we had beef offered 6 months ago we would have jumped at it,
Me I still think Biesla has a chance as well as Emery
Great there is still a heart beating in the hammers fans
