|

Multiple media sources are currently reporting that Angelo Ogbonna has agreed to join West Ham ahead of Everton in an £8million deal.

It is understood that he held talks with the club today and has agreed a four year contract with us.

The left-sided was reported this morning to be a target for Everton but it seems from the unanimous coverage that he is now set to become the first choice partner to Winston Reid.

Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna has agreed to join West Ham ahead of Everton in an £8million deal

The player was an unused substitute for Juventus when they were beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League final in May, and he has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer.

Probably better than the ones we have alongside Reid! Will however need to be convinced.. both by this guy, and Obiang.

What does the Italian expert say?

  • bubs says:

When an Italian team like Juventus buy a defender who is Italian for the money they paid he is going to be good, but I don’t like the injury history being reported, had enough of that with AC,
Looks like good value, jury is out on all the new players, non of them have had the pressure of playing in the premier,

  • essexclarets says:

Must be a bit of pressure playing for juv, italian international so must be pretty good. Slav is attracting better class of players already.

  • Stingray Stewart says:

I have faith in Slav,as a former centreback himself he knows the score with this guy 😉

  • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

Know nothing about him but if Slav wants him that’s good enough for me,I’ll still wait for the official announcement though

  • eriko says:

He’s probably very good, I was just hoping for the monster from Monaco!! 😉

    • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

Yep the Tunisian Titan looked a real beast lol

  • essexclarets says:

Has slav run it past BB first..? After all this time we now know who should be head of recruitment.

  • GW says:

This time last year we were looking at buying players from teams such as QPR, Aston Villa and Norwich this year Juventus,Sampdoria and Marseille, better manager better ideas now get rid of captain no legs and I’ll be happy

  • essexclarets says:

Next step is not to be mentioned as being interested in the same players as Swansea & Stoke. No disrespect to them meant in any way.

  • GW says:

Essex it’s just nice not to be mentioned with a 6ft 11 forward who once scored a header accidently whilst running towards the corner flag or hear we’re buying someone to flick the ball on for captain fantastic. Even better is that we’re not linked with a 10 million pound winger that can’t cross or a 6 million winger that can’t be a winger… Ah **** we’ve already got them

  • essexclarets says:

It is also nice we haven’t got a fat tw#t chewing for england blaming every one else for everything & cupping his ear to the fans. Hopefully by january all of the above will have gone through the same door as he did.

    • GW says:

Don’t be slagging of the chosen one Essex without him we would be nothing we should thank him forever for saving us, build a statue to him so the statistical know all ****wits can arrange a pilgrimage in the back of Rolfes Nissan Micra…

  • Stingray Stewart says:

Hippoheads lame signings are history,no more crap because they were signed to Curtis.Thats one step forward for sure.Might not seem that important, but not having a link between our manager & an agent with second rate players is a big step in the right direction.

Maybe another piece to the jigsaw put in place with any luck.

  • kernow says:

Got to have a bit of sympathy for Tomkins, thought he did well last season before the shoulder injury, now looks like he’ll be warming the bench for prem matches and brought on for early round Europa and league cup matches. Might also mean that either Burke or Oxford go out on loan for the season.

  • Radai Lama says:

Well yeah but i still think he could get game time in the prem.Simple reason, look how often last season either Reid,Collins,Tomkins where injured. One or the other or all at one point were out.I cant imagine reid, collins or a new guy not getting injured.Think we could see alot of different pairings during the season. But like you say,you then have Burke,Oxford & Henry. We wont loan them if we stay in europe i doubt or maybe only one of them.Depends what team we put out if we get to the group stages of the Europa League i guess 😉
