Report: South American scouted by Hammers

martinezWest Ham are scouting a South American youngster called Federico Martinez according to reports in the Sun newspaper.

The tabloid claim the 20-year-old winger has broken into the first team at Liverpool FC  in Uruguay.

It says Hammers scouts have been impressed with displays of the £1million-rated youngster and see him as one for thr the future. West Ham are poised to announce the signing of 18 year old Toni Martinez from Valencia in the coming days as another name for the future.

Martinez, is represented by Nick Maytum at TMG,  and can qualify for an EU passport through family instead of asking for a work permit. The Uruguay youth international has been compared to Argentina winger Angel Di Maria after bursting into the senior team at Liverpool.
