Sweet IRONy as injured McCarthy forced off

|

MaccaWhat goes around comes around they say and that appears to be the case with Dimi Payet’s attacker James McCarthy.

After putting our star man out of action for three months with one of the most reckless tackles seen at the Boleyn in a long time it seems the Everton player is now in  trouble.

He will have to be assessed before his team’s next match against Crystal Palce next Monday after picking up what could be a problematical injury at Bournemouth today.

He apparently landed awkwardly in trying to clear a Bournemouth corner, but according to manager Roberto Martinez has over-extended his groin.

He said: “James McCarthy over extended his groin. It is a concern because he doesn’t usually have to come off. He’ll be assessed.”

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke eh! Hope it’s nothing too trivial!

    “Hope it’s nothing too trivial”

    Amen!!

  • blueonly says:

Made an account solely to tell you what a nasty weapon you are. Writing an article solely because the player that unintentionally injured your only decent player got injured. ****** disgrace, you.

  • Hammer says:

For Blueonly – Yeah,I also made an account just to tell you that your taking out of your ******** if you think an off the ground, 2 legged tackle is unintentional – ****! He knew exactly what he was trying to do & so do you.

    • blueonly says:

Of course it was unintentional. Nobody is out to get you. You’re just a London team.

      • Hammer says:

McCarthy has previous, I know that as well as you do. Stop trying to squirm out of a terrible tackle… & as for the “You’re just a London team” comment – what are you trying to achieve from that? Saying we’re not the top team in London – we know that already but we’re on the up (unlike you), it must be very painful to live in LFC’s shadow knowing that that’s where you’re always going to be…….

        • blueonly says:

No, that’s not what I’m saying. You are just a London team. You’re not Chelsea, you’re not Liverpool. You don’t have millions of football fans who want to see you fail. Nobody is out to get you, especially not McCarthy.

You’re upset that McCarthy injured your one good player. I get that. But it wasn’t intentional, no matter how you look at it.

          • Hammer says:

When has anything good come from a scissor tackle? Also the “your one good player” comment – you really are making yourself look a complete pratt.

      • bubbles says:

McCarthy is a thug with previous . Always had a soft spot for the Blues as it must be terrible playing second fiddle to the other second rate team in Liverpool.

  • HamburgHammer says:

The injury may not have been intentional, but it was reckless enough to run the risk of a bad injury. He may not have wanted to injure Payet, but he sure as hell didn’t care too much if a bad injury was to happen either.
That’s what happens when you apply a scissor tackle, you don’t know what’ll do to the opposing player’s legs, knees or ankles until the tackle is completed.
Or is our totally unbiased Everton fan trying to tell us that McCarthy’s scissor tackles are always applied with smooth tenderness and a velvety touch to ensure the well-being of the tackled player ?

    • blueonly says:

McCarthy can be a snide, but an injury wasn’t intentional. You admitted that yourself. That’s the end of it.

Worryingly, however, is how it’s seemingly acceptable for West Ham fans to cheer and celebrate an injury to another team’s player, weeks after playing that team. How West Ham fan websites are writing f*cking articles on that incident.

I thought you had a little more class than that. Guess I was wrong. My opinion has certainly changed of West Ham United.

      • HamburgHammer says:

No, that’s not the end of it. You probably didn’t get the point. McCarthy has employed a scissor tackle against Payet and he’s employed those tackles before.
I actually don’t buy that there is no intent to injure a player if you go into a challenge with a scissor tackle.
As you catch the opponent between both legs with a follow through for quite a whilewhen he is going down.
During that fall all kinds of unnatural movements can and will gappen to joints, ligaments, bones,in ankle, leg or knee (or a combination).
Hence an injury is always a very real possibility and everyone who scissor tackles is aware of that.
So excuse me if I don’t overflow with sympathy is a player like McCarthy may have suffered a long-term injury himself now. Karma and all that.
I would react very much in the same way if it was one of our own players or any player really scissor tackling a fellow athlete.
There is no room in football for scissor tackles, they should be severely punished and banned by the authorities in football.
Which of course is a separate issue.

    Most diplomatic HH,
    He’s a fukc1ng assassin !! End of !!!!

  • Trinihammer says:

Perhaps a layoff say 8 months may be justice.
Bet you if he has a similar long time out he will never make a reckless tackle like that again.

  • bubbles says:

Great news … the talent less thug got what was coming to him . Hope it is serious and keeps him out for a few months . All this crap about ” unintentional “,did you see the attack ?

  • bubs says:

Blue only you only had to say the truth that the tackle was wrong and if your player and manager just had been human this would go away,
The game does not need these type of incidents and defending them is just as bad,
And showing your class by mentioning London your capital is stupid,
Just can’t get over a great goal by a keeper

  • bubs says:

Just watched your game blue only great to see one of our rejects pop in a couple of goal with ease,
    Just Unlucky sometimes

  • WestGoaHam says:

Bad tackle and bad article. Neither are necessary.
