Fornals reckons we created a sense of danger

Result excepted Pablo Fornals was happy with the performance against Arsenal yesterday (Sun).

The reality is of course the lack of a win leaves us dependent on Brentford performing at Old Trafford tonight which isn’t outside the realms of possibility if we are to retain a serious chance of making the top six.

The Old Trafford team are three points ahead of us – I and the rest of is will be cheering on the Bees in tonight’s game.

A win over Arsenal could have made things so different but despite a soft defeat via a couple if set pieces the Spanish midfielder believes there were things to take from teh game and that we shouldn’t be too downhearted.

Thursday night was a factor in the defeat as witnessed by the much changed team and a loss of height in the centre of defence clearly cost us dearly.

But Fornals – talking to www.whufc.com said: “I think we played quite well against Arsenal.

We kept the ball very well and we had a lot of good possession, but in the end they scored from set-pieces, where normally we’re used to being better than the other team.

We’re gutted about that, but I think we put Arsenal under pressure for the whole game, knowing that everyone is a little bit thinking of our massive game on Thursday, but apart from that I thought we had a decent game.

We were just a bit unlucky to concede from two set-pieces, but I think fortunately, it’s a thing where we can improve a lot.

I think now we’re starting to create a few chances. There weren’t really any big clear ones, but the sense of danger in their box was there, and I think it’s what we need to have to play against other teams and to fight and to keep points, because it’s the way to score goals.
