Aguerd injury news improves

ClaretandHugh’s West Ham sources have updated news of Nayef Aguerd’s injury and it may represent good weekend news.

Earlier in the week we were told that both he and Lucas Paqueta could be out for weeks but in the central defender’s case we have now been informed that was expected to be two at the most!

The Moroccan has received a scan and the club are now hopeful that as it showed little damage to his groin he may even make the game against Spurs.

It may well be that David Moyes – who is not a man to take risks with players – will be tempted to include him in the squad although groin injuries are among the trickiest to read and he will no doubt face late fitness tests.

However, there is hope that he won’t be out for more than a fortnight if that turns out to be the case whilst on the meantime Paqueta has indicated on Instagram that he too could be back sooner than expected.
