Amazing Holland guides Irons to 15th unbeaten game

|

Nathan Holland on the run.

A terrific man of the match  performance from Nathan Holland in the under-23s 4-3 win at Middlesbrough tonight ensured the Hammers completed an amazing run of run of 15 games undefeated.

The flying left winger was clear man of the match as newly turned striker Tony Scully took his goal scoring  tally to five in six games with two strikes.

As Sean reported earlier it took the lads to top spot in Premier League Division 2 but the bigger picture is the pressure Holland is attempting to put on boss Manuel Pellegrini after a series of fine performances this season.

He was involved in smashing home a fabulous goal to the top corner in the 22nd minute, starting the move which led to Scully’s second goal and a direct assist for Kemp’s.

The under 23s are in quite remarkable form and after leading twice before falling behind, they battled back in remarkable fashion to clinch the points.

And it was Holland who was surely on the minds of the management team as he continues to turn in performances which look certain to push him into the first team squad sometime very soon.
