Arnie makes his Irons position clear

|

It’s been  long time coming but Marko Arnautovic has finally revealed that he isn’t ready to leave West Ham.

He has finally made it clear that recent media reports claiming he wants out are untrue.

What’s fascinating here, however, is that it’s the newspapers and media at large who are being accused of telling porkies without a word being mentioned of where the quotes came from.

That of course takes us back to his brother/agent Danjiel who told the Austrian newspaper Kurier: “He’s already playing in the Premier League and that’s where the best players are. But for a player like Marko this cannot be the end.

“He’s a big part of West Ham’s team but I think it’s possible to tease out more of him. For that to happen, he has to play for a top team.

“Marko is ready for the next step. A player like him should not play against relegation. He should play for the international spots.”

It’s good to hear such a firm denial on the West Ham Instagram account but in reality it’s all very embarrassing for the brothers Arnautovic because we have all been here before relatively recently when the Manchester United link emerged amid quotes from brother Danjiel back in the summer.

We have no problem with the media being blamed when they are responsible for fake news but the reality is that the quotes were out there from Daniel when he decided to speak with the Austrian newspaper.

We either believe they made it up complete with the quotes or that Danjiel was ill advised in making such proclamations in the first place!

Either way the good news is that he’s made his position clear.
