Slaven Bilic has received a “serious well done mate” from the man who brought him to West Ham – Harry Redknapp.

The former Hammers boss – now assisting Darren Wassall in the Derby County promotion push – spoke exclusively to ClaretandHugh declaring: “Slaven has done a fabulous job. He’s a good lad.

“I think the Hammers will definitely make the top six and a European campaign but whatever happens now it’s been a fantastic first season for him and the team.”

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he added: “He recruited really well in the summer and has a great squad of players with Payet obviously a stand-out.

“I’m delighted for him  because not only has the team got the results, they have got them playing in a way every West Ham fan loves. I’m pleased for everyone at the club.

“Slav deserves a serious well done. And it’s brilliant that it’s happened in the final season at the Boleyn. It will have been memorable for everyone concerned.”
