News of another likely relegation casualty as West Ham seek to keep the ‘essentials’ together from last seasons squad: This time it is one of the Irons’ full backs who is set to leave and engineer a leap back up into the Premier League  rather than stay and slog through a season in the Championship.

That’s the suggestion by footballleagueworld.co.uk who claim that the Gunners will move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka if their own Ben White leaves the club this summer:

“Arsenal are weighing up a potential move for West Ham defender Aaron Wan Bissaka. The Gunners are looking at possible replacements for Ben White, who has become the subject of interest from Newcastle United, among other clubs.

The DR Congo international has emerged as an option following the Irons’ relegation from the Premier League.”

One suspects that Arsenal are “pushing at an open door” following the evident dismay Nuno showed when Wan Bissaka returned a week late back for training following DR Congo’s World Cup qualification, slap bang in the middle of West Ham’s Premier League survival campaign run-in.

Had Wan Bissaka have showed the same form as he produced within his first season as a Hammer it’d be a big blow to lose him: After last year the right back lost his place to Kyle Walker Peters and looked as if he had no real desire to win it back again.

Wan Bissaka is known to want to stay in London for family reasons now, so perhaps a move to north London would suit both parties.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I would have thought it unlikely that he has either the discipline or the consistency to play in an Arteta team.
