Arsenal’s Move for Kudus Could Trigger Trossard to West Ham – But at What Cost

Talks between Leandro Trossard and Arsenal are being monitored by West Ham in case an agreement cannot be reached.

However, before anyone gets too excited about news that the Hammers are tracking the Belgian, who scored 17 times last season, our interest comes with a note of caution.

The Gunners are looking to replace 29-year-old Trossard with West Ham’s very own Mohammed Kudus, meaning that should the former Brighton player become available, it would likely mean the Hammers have lost their star boy.

Don’t get me wrong – Trossard is a decent player and would probably add to the West Ham squad, but if we have to lose Kudus to facilitate the transfer, then forget it.

Over the past week, numerous reports have speculated that Arsenal will pay anywhere from £83-90 million for the Ghanaian, who is currently serving a five-match suspension for violent conduct, specifically for pushing Tottenham players.

The winger’s ban seems to have done little to deter Arsenal, and the truth is that West Ham can do very little to stop the transfer if Kudus wants to leave. An £85 million release clause is set for next season, which would allow any buying club to secure his services at that fee.

It would, of course, be the most West Ham thing ever to replace a young, fast, tricky footballer with a slower one nearing the end of his career – which is why these links to Trossard have got me more than a little nervous.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Fucking hell …bit like soton and flyn downs….yeah why don’t we give them kudus and not involve trossard …like we didn’t involve kwp..
🤣 thick as shit …..that’s probably what they would do ….we are fucking mugs when people buy or sell to us …every story on here is just depressing…I’m done …I don’t let west ham results wind me up anymore but click bait doom and gloom does ……
West ham is a place where players come to turm to shite ..then leave and they are brilliant again….the latest being aguard…….does this not say something…..I don’t think management whoever it is will make a difference..its happening to much…WE NEED NEW OWNERS FOR SURE NOW …years of yo yo ing …the clubs run all wrong surely they can see this now …

Any arsenal fan will tell you . They desperately need a striker. And mo kudus isn’t that . And at £85m no chance . Get some ambition Gonzo anyway it’s long overdue.

Trossard?! Really?! It’s worth pointing out that he will be 30 by the time the January transfer window comes about! Just what we need… another ageing star on mega money!! We need to keep Kudus until the summer and then invest in young talent from the the premier league and championship… get some youth and hunger back in the squad…

Trossard + 50-55m would be a good deal. Kudus role is RW where we have Bowen and Guillerme. Trossard is best at LW and can play CAM, false nine and deeper in the pitch. This would allow a good purse and competition across the attacking positions.

  • Matt says:

I wouldn’t say we need to replace Kudus with a slow older player on the RW when we have Bowen and the 🇧🇷 kid who are both quick and direct.

  • Matt says:

Arsenal’s main priority is Isak and they will have to bid big money to get him!

They were restricted by PSR after Rice and others.

Why are they going to bid for Kudus when Saka plays on the RW and plays week in week out?

If Salah goes to Saudi that is more likely IMO. Can’t see that happening until the summer if at all.

    • B says:

      With you there Matt.
Replacing Salah more logical than competing with Saka.
I think we have to accept, Kudos is gone this summer.

      • Matt says:

Kudus will go on to bigger and better things in the summer. He is a class player that with the right manager will be a success wherever that may be.

He was bought with selling for profit in mind. His release clause is evidence of this.
