Balbuena v Messi

|

Fabian Balbuena and his fellow Paraguayan defender have to stop Lionel Messi tonight when they clash with kle Argentina in their second Copa America fixture.

The Hammers defender will be desperate for a win after losing two late goals in their opening match against Quatar and coming away with a 2-2 draw.

The General could also be facing up to the skills of  Sergio Aguera and Angel Di Maria in attack.

Balbuena will need to be careful this evening as he will miss Paraguay’s final Group B fixture against Colombia through suspension if he is booked against Argentina, having been shown a yellow card late in the Qatar match.

The team’s third match of the tournament will be against Colombia in  Salvador on Sunday.

The top two finishers in each of the three groups, plus the two best third-place teams, will go through to the quarter-finals.

Balbuena’s battle with Messi will be broadcast live in the UK by Premier Sports 1, which is available to view via Sky channel 412 and Virgin TV channel 551, from 1.25am on Thursday 20 June.
