Big U turn for anti OS campaigner

|

Kahn12-300x225Former anti Olympic Stadium campaigner and Claret And Hugh historian Nigel Kahn has given in to the inevitable.

He has purchased his season ticket in the Olympic Stadium for next season calling it a ‘palatable’ experience.

Nigel was one of the founders of action group WHUSVIEW who in 2013  ran their own poll on the move to the Olympic Stadium claiming a ‘Yes’ vote of 13.4 per cent against a ‘No’ vote of 86.6 per cent.

Nigel was also a member of the original West Ham Supporters Advisory Board and was one of only two members from the 100 plus board who voted against the move when David Gold asked for a show of hands. They became affectionately known at the ‘SAB TWO’.

All that is water under the bridge now. Earlier this year Nigel visited the stadium to watch the Rugby World Cup.

At the time he said “I was seated in the cheap seats in East Stand upper, section 241, row 57. If I am honest, It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, my view was good actually, I’ve had worst views at Wembley, although I’m not sure I would sit in that seat every week to watch football”

Well, it appears he is prepared to sit there every other week next season as today he purchased his seats in the upper tier in section 213 row 64 with ten of his fellow season ticket holders from Sir Trevor Brooking Upper.

Welcome back Nigel and good on yer mate.
