Bilic is certain we are going “to do it”

Slaven-Bilic-Louis-van-Gaal (1)Slaven Bilic is ready for the game which he has described as “mega big” – a “once-in-a-lifetime sort of game.”
Speaking to the official site he said: “It’s a big game for a couple of reasons and one of them is that this is the last game ever at Upton Park. Then, if you add to that it’s a very important game for us and for Manchester United, as both teams need to win the game, it makes it mega-big!

“It will be a game of emotions and you can’t stop it. It’s impossible to tell the players, the staff and spectators that it’s a normal game, but it’s not a normal game. It’s a special one and a once-in-a-lifetime kind of game.

“It’s going to be emotional but we have to channel those emotions to be our motivator and our detonator in order to win.”

He admits however that it will impossible to convince the players this is just another game of football declaring:
“There’s nothing wrong with being emotional, as long as you channel it in a way that you are positive. I think we’re going to manage to do it on Tuesday night.”  He admits to being a ” bit proud ” that he will be the manager to oversee the last game.

He said: “I am a bit proud. I knew this would happen when I came at the start of the season on paper, but now it has come it is special for me, and also a special time for the Club.

“I played for West Ham and now I’m the manager of West Ham, so for me it is mixed emotions like it is for the players and the fans.

“One part of me is happy we are moving forward with more capacity and everything, but another part of me will miss this special kind of stadium. It’s like a home.

“No matter where you move, even if it is to a fancier house or apartment, still your favourite home is your first.”

“Since we found out we would play them (Manchester United) in the Final Game, it couldn’t be bigger. It would be big against any team, but being against Manchester United is like it has a cherry on top!

“Now, after this past weekend, both clubs need the points to have a good chance to get their targets. It’s unbelievably important, so it really is a one-off.

“It’s going to be impossible to wipe out the emotions , but we have to channel them and limit the negative part of those emotions. They can be very positive for us, because they will make us be more on our toes than usual, and be on the front foot from the start.

“We must make sure we’re not over-emotional or over-motivated and I am sure we are going to do it.”

Wonder where you had been canchaz, when the end of the world is called on Wetpants you normally pop in with your words of joy,
At least you are not telling us he results of the last 2 games
Oh go on give us a clue so you can come back and say I told you so ?

Easy bubs, give the man a chance 🙂 what he has said is true. In a way (as long as we win) this will make the game the best we could have wished for as a goodbye to the olde girl. MU under the lights in a winner takes all game. We could be in-store for the best game in resent memory, what a way to go.
Forget saturday & the village idiots elsewhere who are all doom & gloom merchants, questioning if Bilic is the right man to take us forward.. ffs what do people expect, to go from a shower of sh1te under SA to world beaters in one season? Nearly every pundit had us down for relegation but here we are with european football still to fight for with 2 games left. Is that failure?

I don’t know,I see this season as more than worthwhile.Has been for me anyway.I have loved travelling the country supporting the lads.It has been my most enjoyable season for god knows how long.Maybe for some if we don’t qualify for Europe the season will be useless but from my personal perspective it has been brilliant fun.
Chaz is always on the gloomy side of the fence.I expect f*ck all else from him haha 🙂

Whatever happens I was at Liverpool for the 25th + time and saw us break the hoodoo at last.. That in itself gave me more joy than 4 years of the Slug and his defensive minded away day bollocks that I suffered.

          • Radai Lama says:

Yeah what Chaz says is true for the clubs if they don’t qualify for Europe it will be a blow, but for me although I will be gutted on missing out on Europe totally If it happens I have far far more positives than negatives in the bank from this season. The second part of last season I was so f*cked off with football now I am loving it again.
I always enjoy Chaz & his ‘as I said all along’ posts, haha, they make me laugh .

I have been saying for weeks it was all going to come down to this and could it ever have been otherwise, MU and both teams having to win to make their season worthwhile

Whatever happens will be a success, here’s my thinking. After the defeat against Swansea, there have been some riots in Wetland… the leaders of the revolt called for Slav’s head… lol I read that It’s a little early to say if Slav is worthy to be our manager for the coming years… maybe he must walk on hot coals and broken glass…
It’s only his first year here, what was he supposed to do? The multiplication of the loaves and fishes? lol
We were fourth before Christmas last year, we could be fifth after Christmas this year… it’s slightly different… 😉

    • GW says:

Its the same old ones that call for his head Matte, the ones that still bask in the glory that was the hiding at Man City in the semi of a cup competition or the sending the kids to the slaughter in Nottingham under the defensive mastermind.. The way they talk the only way Slav can win is by winning the premier league, FA Cup, Capital One Cup,, World Club Cup, Grand National, Eurovision Song Contest, Grammys,Oscars and the Superbowl and then thank each one personally via telegram …

      • mattefumi27 says:

hahahah… and I would also add Wimbledon and the Tourist Trophy GW… I can’t imagine what will happen if we lose tomorrow… the Apocalypse may be upon us… lol 😀

        • Radai Lama says:

Two more matches & the Wetpants managers & tactical demons can take a well earned summer holiday. They messed up with their team selection Saturday but we should be grateful for the way they have steered Slav in the right direction this year, haha 😉
I have just been out & got 10 packets of tissues so I can practice my crying for tomorrow,I don’t want to be out done by the ‘I’ve been crying for weeks’ experts.

          • mattefumi27 says:

hahah…. smart move Rads, but I don’t know if 10 packets are enough… lol the experts will be sponsored by Kleenex and “I’m Wetpants till I cry” printed on their t-shirts… they’re well-organized lol 😀

          • Radai Lama says:

Lol,nice one Matte.Maybe they can send over a packet of tissues for Kevin after he lost his mind again yesterday 😀

          • GW says:

10 packets Matte? Some of them are creating Tampon glasses to soak up all the excess eye fluid.

Absolutely, bubs, to end a season like this one without a European place will be devastating. But we are where we are 36 games on and, ref decisions aside, it’s hard to say we deserve any more or less. Hate to mention the weekend again but Bilic and the players knew they had 3 must win games…..

I believe it was David Sullivan who said that we were as good as Leicester. Well, maybe, on a good day (we have had a few of those to be fair) but somehow Leicester manage to focus and grind out results week after week and that’s what mark them out as deserving champs.

Tuesday will be a do-or-day match for the season and more. Let’s hope Slav’s men can handle the pressure and emotions this time round to take the roof off the Boleyn.

We all need a dream for next year,
If we loose this game and Liverpoor over take us and Palace win the cup,it would be the most unjust end to the season,
The players owe the fans and our great ground one last brilliant game this season,
It’s 90 minutes to play themselves into the record books for ever
