Few could have predicted the speed of change at West Ham United: Fans are more accustomed to endless ‘must win’ games being laid out in a public ultimatum for the hapless manager, as happened with both Lopetegui and Potter: The speed of Nuno’s sacking and Scott Parker’s appointment took us all pretty much unawares within a hectic 48 hours, brought to a head by last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion.

New boy Scott Parker gets cracking with a first ‘proper’ Championship start in West Ham’s dugout.

Today’s team selection is the first one likely to give us any clues about his own judgement or plans as to how he sees West Ham playing. Midweek against Cardiff he’d impacted the dressing room at half time, but couldn’t really have had any direct say in the picking of the starting line up.

So it starts for real today: Scott Parker’s first West Ham’s line up has just been released:

West Ham United:

Hermansen | Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Mayers | Kanté, Engles, Mukasa | Bowen, Piroe, Austbo

The game is not televised in the UK but Gonzo and Geo will be continuing their Hammers Chat you tube watch along which is always hugely entertaining: We’ll be back after the final whistle with player ratings and first impressions. Come. On. You. Irons!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Curse you Shaun Wright-Phillips.
I still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows another six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser.
Can tell I'm getting old knowing I watched both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old.
Magic.
