Bold ‘West Ham will really fancy winning’ prediction

|

Former Hammer Ian Wright appears to have little doubt that the Hammers can do Manchester United at the stadium later on today (Sun).

And he reckons the new attacking policy introduced under Pellegrini will be the key to a victory which will send the hopes of Irons fans soaring.

It’s good to hear such a positive prediction from Wrighty who reckons the Hammers will be looking forward to the game probably more than United.

No doubt the 3-1 victory last season will be in their minds and the Hammers now have players who can make life additionally difficult for any team and have to be hopeful of a decent result.

He’s of course spot in in accepting the new attacking policy is a far better way of operating than a ‘respect the point ‘ attitude with which we had become too familiar in the past.

Pressure will be the thing though as the Irons look to claim a notable scalp and continue the onwards march to Bournemouth next weekend.

Said Wrighty: ‘What I like about this West Ham side is that with Haller and in Felipe Anderson and Yarmolenko they have the pace on the wings but also that they can hold it up,’

‘This is the thing for them. I think they’ll attack United and I think that they should because they need to put them under pressure. If they put them under pressure that’s when you’ll start to see Manchester United creak.

‘When you look at West Ham, they’ll be looking forward to United coming [to their place]. ‘You look at United’s away form and the way West Ham play in their 4-5-1 in how they get it up to Haller, they’ll be putting pressure on Manchester United and attacking them at pace.

I think it’s a game that West Ham will really fancy winning. ‘
