Karren Brady has chosen to use her column in The Sun to claim that the reason “the most important reason” the board chose to sack Pellegrini and install Moyes was”in the interests of our supporters.”
To go down such a road in a column which presumably is worth more than a few bob to her and, which like everybody else we believe to be entirely entirely out of order, is frankly laughable.
Choosing to comment at length anyway – presumably at the suggestion of the sports news editor – is equally wrong but to claim the decision was mainly for our sake is ludicrous.
It suggests that but for us the board may have happily allowed the situation to end up in near certain relegation and possible eventual financial loss of huge proportions.
Just a joke and rather like her Prime Minister pal claiming from his Caribbean winter sun holiday that we’re all in this together!
Writing in The Sun she said: “Our board are not natural manager sackers. Making the decision to change a manager is never an easy one and it was with disappointment that we had to part company with Manuel Pellegrini after the Leicester loss.
When we appointed Pellegrini on a handsome three-year contract, we hoped it would be for many years and accompanied by some success — plus we invested heavily in the squad.
Joint chairmen, David Sullivan and David Gold, had the usual dilemma in such a circumstance, whether to be patient and wait or move in time to give his successor a realistic chance of dragging the team away from the relegation pit.
They chose Moyes who had done the job for us previously.
So we became the third Premier League club in six weeks to dispense with a manager. The most important reason for doing so was, we felt, the interests of our supporters.
David was a ready answer for West Ham once it was clear the team were struggling and confidence had not been restored by a couple of wins among far too many defeats.
The risk in keeping Pellegrini, an admirable man, became just too great. In David Moyes returning to the club, we know where his strengths lie. He convinced us of his hunger to succeed, and that’s why we were keen for him to return.”

You normally hear this kind of what does she actually Do comment directed towards the Queen and its normally borne out of ignorance and comes out of the mouth of looney leftie communists.
Not sure whether the ‘looney leftie communist’ comment was aimed at me fella, but I assure you that couldn’t be further from the truth, along with the ‘ignorant’ dig.
Brady’s achievements, imho, amount to some carpet around the pitch and finally getting the wi-fi to work. Oh, and some beer shelves.
What has she actually achieved with regard to sponsorship?
Why does she feel the need to continue with her ridiculous articles in The Sun? She can’t be that skint!
As far as I can see her main achievements appear to be the fact that she is disliked by what I would guess is the majority of our fans, and judging by our relationship with the likes of Leicesters board, alienating other clubs for no good reason.
Of course, if you’re happy with her representing our club you bang on. Me, I’m sick of her.
With her general level of ineptitude, her crass comments (and even more crass article in the Sun), her failure to secure sponsorship befitting a club of our size, and her general distate for our fans (as well as a fairly high level of hatred aimed straight back at her for very good reason), I really do wonder what the board sees in her?!? What does she actually DO for West Ham?
Lady Brady is all about image and PR. She knows nothing about football and cares even less.
Sullivan runs the show, not Brady. They need to ask themselves why they continually get so much so wrong. You would have thought that their experiences would have taught them that they have little aptitude for running a football club, regardless of other talents. Brady strikes me as the kind of CEO who thinks she’s doing a great job if she negotiates the price of light bulbs down, or saves a few quid on toilet roll, but as I said Sullivan runs the show so she’s not entirely to blame for that.
I believe Moyes got external people in last time he was here to assess the way the club was run and they were scathing in their assessment. It would appear that little has changed. GSB shouldn’t be anywhere near things like managerial or player recruitment.
As for the rest Ajay is spot on.

The 7th manager just signed, from home owner to rental status, 70 plus player signings – few of which successful – continuing fan unrest, habitual under investment, inadequate facilities etc etc. 10 years of regression.
Happy anniversary, the gift for 10 years is tin which is very much appropriate. For you have made this a tin pot club during your tenure.
Congratulations, for whilst the history books will record your continued failure, the fans will never forgive your attempts to destroy West Ham United.
This is the best post I’ve read about GSB. Completely agree that the Club isn’t being run as well as similarly-sized clubs, like Leicester. The only things I would add are that the property we now rent from the Council is not fit for football spectating, which is something that I find unforgivable of GSB. We also shouldn’t forget that commercial revenues at the Club are not spectacularly diffetent to those generated at the much smaller Boleyn. (Witness the prominent ads for local skip hire and scaffolding firms on Europe’s largest wraparound TV screen, rather than ads for Samsung, Microsoft etc.). Also, GSB may very well be investing the minimum amount of capital required to keep the Club in the PL until the point in time that it can be sold without financial penalty to them, which would explain why we’re not performing as well as other similarly-sized clubs. Let’s not forget too that this has been done while S, in particular, has promised the ‘Greatest Show On Earth’ (i.e. next level football). Clearly, if this is the case, GSB’s incentives are not aligned with ours, the fans. So, for B to suggest that they sacked Pelle for the sake of the fans would be highly disingenuous, to say the least. The disappointing commercial performance aince the move suggests that GSB simply haven’t been capable of transforming the off-field fortunes of the Club, either, which is staggering given the bigger stadium.
Despite of all of that, though, I think Moyes’ appointment is a good one from the perspective of both fans and Board.

Completely agree Ajay well said, I am not sure whether it is vanity about owning the club you support but there has to come a time when they reflect that when it comes to football clubs other than the financial side which is solid if unspectacular they have a track record which is significantly more miss than hit.
Pellegrini is a good manager at least other than China his track record would suggest that, in the first season we played better football than previous seasons but without the significant squad strengthening that is required throughout the spine we lost more than we gained, Hernandez, Arnautovic, Obiang, Adrian etc whilst it was the right time for them to move on, perhaps even earlier they should have we didn’t strengthen enough, we have full backs that are not at the right level, central midfield that has heart but lacks energy with the exception of Rice, up front Haller was bought but like when we used Carroll needs support from a high quality striker in the mould of a younger Hernandez, in that absence Antonio will suffice.
Probably £300m needs to be invested to keep pace with Leicester and Everton who have the squads capable of pushing the top 6, as for Wolves, Nuno is performing miracles whether he is still there next season we will wait and see but they are punching above their weight, I had hoped we would push on and the first month showed promising signs but that lack of energy and resilience made us under MP a very soft touch
She hasn’t exactly said anything wrong really ., When you consider the bad feeling towards Pelligrini from the fans . It’s the fans that fill the stadium and thousands of fed Up fans Less coming through the turnstiles would mean , obviously , less revenue . So in reality the decision was made for ALL concerned . Life in the second division could possibly cripple us and it’s a very hard job to climb out of it . So on this issue I wouldn’t be too hard on her .
