Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has said he would like to keep West Ham top transfer target Alexandre Lacazette.
Lyon striker Lacazette has also been linked with a summer move to Barcelona, but the president insists he would like him to stay on. Aulas told reporters: “I would like to keep Alexandre Lacazette. I have met with the Barcelona president recently, he did not speak to me about Alex.”
Despite the president’s words, the 24-year-old is believed to be valued at £23.5million by Lyon. He is considered to be Lyon’s prized asset but has previously spoke of his desire to leave the club at the end of the season.
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, Lacazette recognised that he likes the Spanish league, although he avoided saying whether his future could be in La Liga.
“I like the football they play in Spain a lot. I follow Barça, [Real] Madrid and even Atletico, who are doing great things, without positioning himself with one team or the other. However, he lamented that La Liga is not like English football, where there are many teams fighting to be in top part of the table.” said Laczette
Lacazette has been playing for Lyon since he was 13. The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals this season.
