Chelsea 3-0 West Ham – First half report

A dire first half by the men in claret and blue, totally clueless!

It all started so well with the West Ham supporters  in good voice, giving the Chelsea support some advice on where to put their blue flags.

But early pressure from Chelsea then saw the Irons on the back foot, nothing new there then.

They then upped the pressure in the following few minutes, and Chelsea snatched the lead.

Noni Madueke exhibited some clever footwork on the right before whipping in a cross. Kurt Zouma was too slow (again) and the ball landed at the feet of Cole Palmer, who made no mistake from just inside the box.

Surprise, surprise…West Ham have now conceded 10 goals in the first 15 minutes of the first half, only Sheffield United (11) have conceded more in the Premier League this season.

After going 1-0 down, the Irons raced straight up the other end, and won a corner. Jarrod Bowen rose above Marc Cucurella, and his header came crashing back off the crossbar. So close to 1-1.

The clock then ticked past the half-hour mark, and Chelsea grabbed their second.

Cole Palmer played a powerful, low pass into Noni Madueke. As Kurt Zouma tried to challenge for the ball, it bounced up to captain Conor Gallagher, who made no mistake with the finish.

And it got worse…

A third for Chelsea, with a little under ten minutes before half-time.

The tireless Mykhailo Mudryk whipped in a corner to the back post, Thiago Silva nodded it back across goal, and the lively Noni Madueke finished off.

West Ham have been cut open time and time again – but have also just been inches away from scoring twice themselves!

Bowen was so unlucky, with his volley from Petrovic’s poor punch from Coufal’s cross pinging back off the woodwork.

Nevertheless, a long way back now for the Hammers.

Surely Moyes is going to make some changes?

Of course he won’t, and the 400m he has spent so wisely on the bench???. January he puts everything into Philips in a position we had cover and let’s 3 go. Should be sacked at halftime. No pace at cd, all down to lack of youth being given a chance

What, like bringing on some of the Under 21s ?! If there are any in the match squad – haven’t looked to see; didn’t want to get too depressed !

How much longer are we the fans going to have to put up with dross. Do us a favour moyes walk away now so we start preparing for next season this is embarrassing. Our players are second best to every ball and stand off inviting attacks. Bring on as many subs as possible, give the kids a chance they won’t embarrass themselves like the majority. Alvarez, Kudus and Bowen must be so frustrated.
    1 word for Moyes PATHETIC

Apart from upto Xmas, playing as we are we would have been relegated, last season struggled and eventually did just enough to stay up. If moyes doesn’t go it will be the same next season and we will lose out best players and can you blame them for wanting to leave. Moyes couldn’t pick a winner in a 1 horse race. Please go today .
