Coufal ‘injury’ update

|

Exclusive by Hughie Southon

Vladimir Coufal will be available for the next West Ham against Aston Villa but only just!

The Czech defender came off in the second half against Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium this afternoon which looked at the time to be a nasty injury.

He was replaced by Ben Johnson but the Hammers ultimately crashed to a 2-0 defeat as the Seasiders made it 11 games on the trot since the Hammers have won against them.

However, ClaretandHugh was told exclusively after the game that Coufal had been knocked unconscious rather than having suffered an injury per se.

It means that the right sided full back will be available for the next game after serving the regulated time for such an issue.

A Hammers insiders revealed the situation to us declaring: “He was concussed after being knocked unconscious. As a result it will be the stipulated six days before he can play again.
