COYI it really is time to deliver

We have now played nine PL games of which five of these games have been against teams who are more than likely to finish in the top six this year.

A return of seven points is probably most people’s realistic expectation of these first games from when the fixtures first came out although probably not in the manner we have achieved the results.

We now have a period of our next eleven PL games which are our “bread and butter “ games excluding Man City, the matches we need to deliver in and from which to get wins.

Certainly from the Everton game onwards the performance levels have been good, and barring the first halves at Brighton and against Spurs , the team is progressing but now it’s time to deliver..

Not only do I watch our games as a ST holder, I watch a fair amount of other PL games and as I have always said in this league any team can beat anyone on any given day.

I would hope for a return of six wins in the next 11 games which would give us 25 points on New Year’s Day and a decent platform for the second part of the season, and of course a cup win over Spurs.

There are currently several players in the team that need to “do better” and our record signing is certainly in that category.

One goal and one assist in nine games is frankly not good enough. Yes, there has been some good performances against Arsenal, Everton, and United and I know people will say he is in the top three of dribbles etc but that’s no good if chances are not being converted.

Assists and goals are key and at £35m there needs to be a big improvement, I hope over the next eleven games we see this.

I like Pellegrini’s stance that no matter who you are if you are not doing it, you will not play or you will be replaced.

At the end of December we need to be higher than 15th in the table and with a few additions in January still have that good season, we are capable of it, just need to deliver it..
