West Ham registered their first 3 points of the season with an emphatic 2-0 win at Selhurst Park.

A total of 18 shots, 3 of which were on target meant the Hammers were creating lots of chances, and won a total of 22 aerial duels.
Starting with a 4-1-4-1 formation, Lopetegui put his faith in the same eleven players that narrowly lost in the previous week to Aston Villa.
Within the first twenty minutes there were chances at both ends. Kudus and Antonio went close for the Hammers, whilst Eze and Edouard missed for Palace.
Late on in the first half, Eze also hit the woodwork when his effort from a corner struck the crossbar.
The England international was causing Coufal a number of problems.
Level at half time, it was West Ham that scored first when Soucek converted on 67 minutes, after some great work from Aaron Wan-Bissaka who came on for Antonio five minutes earlier.
Jarrod Bowen doubled West Ham’s lead when he fired a left foot drive on 72 minutes past Dean Henderson.
West Ham made full use of their five substitutes in the second half, and a cameo performance from Alvarez on 78 minutes was pleasing to see.
The Hammers came away with a valuable 3 points, which moves them up to a top half place in the early Premier League table.
Next up is Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

I am just as pleased with a clean sheet as the 3 points. That is the first one in the Premier League for over a dozen games I believe?

Shockingly 20 PL games, Gary. 0-0 vs Brighton at home on January 2nd was our last one.
