Dean Aston hits out at fading hero Arnautovic

|

Dean Ashton has hit out at Marko Arnautovic and his current performance levels for the team.

The former striker is as unhappy as most fans at the fading Hammers striker who clearly hasn’t understood the nature and character of West Ham’s fan base.

We don’t expect every player to necessarily be a  Lionel Messi or Ronaldo but what we do expect is that they remain dedicated to our club and give all they have whilst on the pitch.

That doesn’t appear to have happened in Arnautovic’s case and as a result he has become very much the Hammers fading hero.

He may be looking for a way back into the fans’ affections but that’s a big call after his behaviour in the winter transfer window which many will always refuse to forgive.

And it may even be that the lack of adulation upon which he thrives is the big factor affecting him as he struggles to find a semblance of the form he showed last season.

Speaking on Love Sport Radio as subscribed by their website Ashton said : “Arnautovic didn’t help anybody. It’s never nice to see agents coming out and making statements for players and then suddenly you see the player taking a picture with the badge and signing a new deal,”

“It’s not as though that has happened and he’s got his head down and put in great performances.

“He’s struggled a bit with injury so it’s kind of left a bit of a sour taste for everybody and it didn’t help the team.”
