Declan Rice/Arsenal: Here’s the deal

|

West Ham have sealed the Declan Rice to Arsenal deal on very good terms but maybe not quite as good as they would have liked.

After days of haggling David Sullivan agreed to three separate payments for the player which will the fee paid by 2025 in three equal parts.

That means we will be getting just over 31 million now with the remainder being paid by two payments of the same at this time next year and 2025.

The Gooners had wanted to pay over four years and probably felt the withdrawal of  Manchester City had strengthened their hand.

It did but only a little with Hammers negotiator David Sullivan refusing to budge very far but with the assurance of the deal going through the hammers bankers will probably allow us to borrow against what is to come.

Given the club only had Arsenal to negotiate with it feels like a pretty decent deal has been done.
