Suggestions that Troy Deeney could join West Ham in January are “not even close” his agent has told the Watford Observer.
The 28-year-old, who signed a new five-year contract with Watford in the summer, had been linked in the Daily Mirror with a move to West Ham but his agent has confirmed there is no truth in the rumours.
Deeney’s agent told the Watford Observer: “I heard the rumour this morning; it’s not true, not even close.
“There’s no interest at the moment and Troy is just concentrating on playing for Watford and trying to get in the England squad.”
Deeney scored 13 goals last season and had a £20m bid from Leciester City turned down in the Summer with rumours that Watford have slapped a £30m valuation on him. Tory has scored 3 goals from 11 league appearances this season including one against West Ham in the 4-2 defeat at home.
