Sam Byram is desperately trying to get himself back to full fitness as the team shows signs of going from strength to strength.
The 24-year-old is desperate to show the new manager what he has to offer and is pushing hard for a return to full training.
Current forecasts are that he will be back in mid January and he said: “It’s been a frustrating one. The timing, with a new manager coming in, has been frustrating, because I would have liked to have been able to show him what I can do and get a chance.
“However, I’m over the worst of it now. I’m back outside running, and I’ve just started integrating the footballs as well. It’s not going to be long before I’m back training with the lads and helping out.
“I just want to get myself fit, help the team in any way I can, and impress the new manager.”
He has been impressed with recent performances saying: “I think in the last few games we’ve been starting to look like a real team.
Speaking to the official site he added: “We can’t slack off now. We need to take our good performances into the coming games over Christmas and not take them for granted.
We got those wins against Chelsea and Stoke through hard work and organisation and we need to do the same in the coming games.”
I like Byram & I think Pearce & Moyes can really help him. He is still young he has pace can get fwd & put in a good cross. Bilic didn’t seem to fancy him but he put in good shifts in the cup games this season & in the league last season.
I really think working with Psycho will help him round out & he can cover RM as well.
And Full back is a position we are lacking in I think we need an FB more then a CB.
And with his pace & crossing WB role suits him & Moyes & Pearce will help him w defending.
