Stewart Downing appears to have questioned West Ham owners over the issue of the team playing more entertaining football.
The winger believes however that if the team continues to play as it did on Saturday the Hammers will finish in the top ten.
“We have got people to come back, [Enner] Valencia came on and looked sharp, he could be a good player for us once he is up and running.
“We have to consistently play like that. At the end of the season if we are not in the top 10 we will have not hit the target the chairman wants but, us as a team, we should be in the top 10 anyway. If we are not we have failed.
“It [being more entertaining] is a statement from the chairman.
“What is entertainment? If we had played not very well and won everyone would’ve been happy – we played very well and lost and everyone is unhappy so you can’t really win at football in that way.”
No Stewart, you silly boy, it’s not as simple as that. “If we had played not very well and won everyone would’ve been happy” – Not if it involved more of the hoofball drivel that we saw last year.Yes I would have been grateful for the three points, but happy? That’s a different thing altogether.
It’s easy for you to say that Stewart your getting PAID for producing rubbish football, we’re PAYING to watch the rubbish football with Sam and his backwards tactics, we must be the stupid ones! !!
