Everton are reportedly considering a move for West Ham’s 19-year-old striker Divin Mubama, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Mubama’s path to regular first-team football at West Ham has been somewhat challenging this season. He’s made just 12 appearances, primarily coming off the bench, failing to register a goal or assist. Limited playing time has undoubtedly impacted his performance. His passing accuracy also needs improvement, currently sitting at only 70.7% in the Premier League. (stats via whoscored)

With his contract expiring, Mubama becomes an attractive option for clubs seeking a young striker without a transfer fee. This presents a potential opportunity for Everton to bolster their attacking options.

Despite his lack of playing time, Mubama’s talent is undeniable. He possesses finishing ability and the potential to create space for himself and teammates. Everton, in need of striking reinforcements, could be taking a gamble on his development.

A move to Everton could be the catalyst Mubama needs. Regular playing time would be crucial for his growth as a player.

The potential transfer hinges on Mubama’s desire for a bigger role. If he seeks more playing time to showcase his abilities, Everton could be a suitable destination. Whether Everton is willing to give him that opportunity remains to be seen.

But, who knows? The new management at the London Stadium may entice him to stay.

I don’t think that our academy products are as good as we like to think they are in the main. Diangana was supposed to be wonderful, mistake to sell him we were told, truth was we were highwaymen how much we got for him. Ngakia, Perkins, cant even remember the name of the guy who went to Newcastle they’re all not given a chance people shout but then rarely go on to do anything other than disappear into the lower leagues. There’s a hell of a difference in the level they play at and the premier league, it’s not normal for them to make it in the premier league wherever they go, even Ben Johnson is a squad player not a starter. With the odd exception that’s the case.
